CHIMES - Crump Humanism In Medicine Exposition Scholars Program CHIMES promotes writing in pre-med students, focusing on empathy and understanding of the patient experience. The program allows students to interview with community members and write about their experiences with health care. Students submit their work to compete for the CHIMES scholarship award and to have their work featured in The Classic Journal. Undergraduate Scientific Writing Awards The Kris Miller Undergraduate Scientific Writing Award recognizes outstanding achievement in communicating research in an academic context. The Christy Desmet Undergraduate Science Communication Award acknowledges excellent science communication aimed at a broader, non-specialist audience.
